Depends: The contagious period from oral secretions often begins just before the first fever untill fever has been gone 24hr. The germ may be found in the stool for another 4-6 wks.

Gastroenteritis: Great info from Dr. Ferguson. The length of time you are contagious with stomach varies depending which virus is the cause. Usually the period lasts from several days to 2 weeks.

After flu stops not: Once the vomiting stops you are no longer contagious . If you had diarrhea you can continue to have loose stools but won't pass it on it you are really good about hand washing and not touching things until thoroughly washed. If you have fever you are still contagious
