Openbites: There are different types of openbites. There are posterior openbites (open in the back). There are anterior openbites (open in the front). Finally there are differences between skeletal (openbite because of the bone) and dental (teeth only and not bone) openbites. Each type of openbite will be treated differently. Options include bite plates (retainer type), braces, extractions, and/or surgery.

Open bite : There are two kinds of open bite. Dental vs. Skeletal. A skeletal problem would need braces and surgery.
