What happens during a vaginal exam / breast exam?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gentle exam: The doctor will examine the breast by looking at them then palpating (feeling) them in a systematic method. The pelvic exam is similar. The doctor feels your abdomen (tummy) for any abnormalitis, then looks at the skin around your vulva. A speculum (a device to see in the vagina) about the size of a tampon is inserted to see the vagina and cervix. Then feeling for abn organs is done by feeling.
