How many and family: History. Age 26 is early to have colonic polyps. If you have multiple polyps you are at high risk for colon cancer. What is your family history regarding colon cancer? Please consult your doctor at your earliest to be investigated for apc gene.

Perhaps??: There are many types of polyps, some common at younger ages, and not all polyps lead to cancer! just having a benign hyperplastic polyp at age 26 probably doesn't influence your colon cancer risk at all! but other polyps are much more worrisome, so find out what kind you had, and discuss your personal risk with your doctor, knowing that surveillance should greatly reduce your chance of cancer.
