It Can: Mumps may cause onfection in the testicles which on occasion can lead to male sterility. Immunization is still the best prevention.

Rare if ever: In the years before vaccines were available, teens and adults who suffered from mumps ran the risk of testis involvement and injury. For a few that meant sterility.It rarely if ever followed childhood mumps.Today, the broad use of vaccines in this country make the possibility remote.
