Hypnosis: Traditional hypnotic trance is induced by suggestion, which needs patient's awareness & consent. Hypnosis by Pentothal I.V. Has been used in hospitals, where patient is put to sleep by hypnotics, and could be used in special cases.

No: It is in general not possible to hypnotize someone against his will. In addition, it would be unethical to do it without consent.
