Alternatives: Don't change the dose, higher strengths don't work any better and may be dangerous. If overweight, a low calorie and low carb diet may help, as will reducing alcohol intake. Fish oil at high doses can be useful, as may Niacin and statin drugs. Your doctor will be able to advise. Good luck!
