Yes: 15-20% of individuals followed over time will meet criteria for benign ms. This means that their disability does not increase over time, either cognitive or physical. It is difficult to predict early in the course of disease whether a benign outcome can be anticipated.

Tough to predict: The course of ms is variable, and no two patients are ever alike. One might hope, in the end, that the outcome is mild or benign, but it is almost impossible to sort out early in the disease. Many specialists would treat, and modify interventions as time progresses.
