Possible: Hypermobility (being very flexible) can lead to poor tracking of the knee cap (patella) in the groove on the femur (leg bone) which can lead do patellar-tendonitis. Quadriceps strengthening exercises can help as can an elastic knee brace with a whole for the kneecap which can improve tracking. Exercises for iliotibial band (it band) syndrome can also help.

Tendonitis: It is probably not the streches. It is more like the extreme activity of dancing leaping and jumping placing your muscles and tendons at high stress that resulted in the patellar-tendonitis. The stretching is probably protective to you. See your doctor for specific treatment for the tendonitis.
