Not there yet: Pancreatic islet cell transplantation allows independence from exogenous supplementation of Insulin for a year or two. Generalization of islet cell transplantation still seems far away.

Not at this time: Scientists are hard at work on this. At this time, however, no cure is available. Better and better treatment options have evolved over the years and new innovations, like the artificial pancreas, are in sight.
