See below: Take your blood pressure medicationsregualrly, exercise daily, try and reach ideal weight , tobacco cessation higher blood pressure causes kidney, heart and brain dysfunction do not do isometric eg weight lifting exercises until blood pressure is controlled.

Multiple things: Severe hypertension, sbp 160+ often requires multiple medications (likely for life) as well as decreasing the sodium in your diet. Exercise and weight loss will help as well. Since you're in your 30s it is reasonable to look for 'other' causes or rare causes of high blood pressure.
