Medullo: Surgery can cause short-term (mutism, problems swallowing, personality changes) and long-term neurologic effects (weakness, coordination, motor skills). Chemo can cause blood counts to go down (short term and reversible) or long term side effects such as hearing loss (permanent). Lastly radiation therapy can effect iq, especially if given to very young children.
