YES ! YES! YES!!!: Common infections related to piercings include staphylococcus aureus, group a streptococcus & pseudomonas. In some situations nipple piercings have led to chronic nipple infection requiring surgical intervention. Ear piercings have led to chondritis with collapse of the external ear. Naval and nasal piercings often lead to infection.
