Relatively simple: This is a procedure that can be done under local anesthesia in a surgeons office. You need to be certain that you don't want to breast feed as the procedure could effect your ability to do so.

Straightforward: There are several different surgical methods that can be used, with either local anesthesia or a little sedation. The one i usually use involves removing a cuff of skin from the side of the nipple, leaving a central core of tissue and the end part intact. The nipple can then telescope down on its central core, and be sutured in place. Still allows for future breast feeding.
