A member asked:

If i had episcerlitis or sclertis would the use of steroid drops make a difference?

Yes,: Episcleritis is treated with nonsteroidals anti inflamatory drugs at first, mild topical steroids if above do not work scleritis does not respond well to topical sterois, but oral steroids are usually given if this does not work, immunosuppressive therapy is usually tried. It depends on the type of scleritis: 1. Diffuse, necrotizing or posterior or infections.

Yes: Topical steroids are very helpful for episcleritis and somewhat helpful for scleritis. Scleritis usually needs either oral anti-inflammatories versus steroid.
