A member asked:

Can a person actually change from a single life experience?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, often: A single experience of torture is likely to leave a person jumpy and mistrustful for the rest of their life. A woman i know went from being cynically amoral and irresponsible to being decent after a bullet graze at our kc mall shooting. I am far more skeptical of claims that seeing a flasher caused lifelong mental illness, though these claims are made in court. Look around and decide for yourself.
