Zoloft/Lexapro: Both are ssri's used for treatment of depression & anxiety. Lexapro (escitalopram) in some cases is better tolerated than zoloft especially in regards to side effects of nausea & headaches. Also, Lexapro (escitalopram) is dosed once a day, zoloft can be dosed twice daily.

Different SSRIs: Both belong to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor or ssri family, same as the old prozac. Lexapro (escitalopram) works faster, in days, but sometimes makes people more "hyper" or "jumpy." zoloft needs 2-3 weeks to have an effect. It has more weight gain and sexual side effects, but in general is better tolerated. They both can be used for anxiety and/or depression in doses that depend on your sx.
