Yes: It may depend upon things like diet, exercise and genetics, but smoking definately will statistically increase your risk of lung and other cancers, so i wouldn't be so smug about my answer.

Dont smoke: Not all smokers get lung cancer. This is the number one cause of cancer related deaths in the country accounting for 28% of all cancer deaths. Smokers risk is 10 to 30 times greater than a non-smoker in contracting lung cancer. That is pretty significant.

Yes, but why try?: 15% of smokers get lung cancer, but 80% of all lung cancer is caused by smoking. More people die from lung cancer per year caused by second hand smoke than die from aids, in the us.
