Interference: Reasons: in patients without diabetes it increases pancreatic Insulin release which can promote low blood sugar some hours after ingestion. In anyone it also interferes in the liver's ability to properly make glucose once it's storage glycogen is depleted. So several hours following alcohol, gluconeogenesis is impaired which causes low blood sugar once glycogen stores are depleted.
