Safety is key.: If she has forgotten that she has moved her ability to form a new memory is impaired. Reassurance that she is in a safe place (assuming she is) and then changing the subject may help. Consider joining a support group for caregivers to get input from others.

Agree with Dr. Nash: Taking care of a family member with dementia is very challenging and frustrating especially when the dementia progresses and becomes severe. The best way to cope is through support groups and there are a lot of great books written on the subject and how to care for people with dementia. Arrange for family to allow you time off on occasion if possible.
