How do you go about removing a mole?

Excision or shave: Generally two ways to remove moles. If a mole is elevated, becoming irritated, a dermatologist can carefully remove it to the base with a "shave technique". This eliminates need for sutures, and generally the area heals well. Deeper moles may need small excision to remove completely, which would require sutures. Lasers are generally not recommended for removing moles.

Mole: A dermatologist may remove a mole with or without stitches depending on the location , size, shape, depth and degree of cancerous concern . See a dermatologist to discuss all options.
