Labyrinthitis & Ears: Labyrinthitis describes inflammation of the part of the inner ear that controls your balance. This inflammation can cause sudden vertigo, a sensation of spinning that can make you nauseous and throw up. Labyrinthitis can also cause you to have ringing in your ear or lead to temporary hearing loss.
