A member asked:

Does labyrinthitis damage the inner ear for life and will i always feel off balance? i don't have dizzy spinning. just feel off balance when i walk.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually temporary: Labyrinthitis is usually the result of a viral infection and most often resolves without any specific treatment. However, you really need a more specific diagnosis because the unsteadiness may be central (brain). At age 36, the above comments are appropriate but do you have a hearing loss? If not, spontaneous resolution in time occurs unless this is more serious and is a neurological problem.
