Damage?: Without a photograph and a cat scan thorax, and physical examination, associated pectus excavatum rib deformities can not be assesed.

It's congenital..: Pectus and the ribs develop since being born. There's no damage, per se, present. Sometimes surgery is offered for pectus repairs, particularly if you have symptoms of shortness of breath. The main effect of the surgery, though, is cosmetic.
