Avoid endemic areas: Avoiding areas where there is an outbreak is the best way... But if you can't (i.e. You are a healthcare worker or are in the military), wearing an n95 mask when you are in the presence of people who may be ill + total contact precautions is recommended. (respiratory droplet and contact precautions). The cdc has a webpage: http://www.Cdc.Gov/ncidod/sars/ with more detail.

There is no SARS: Sars virus is not registered anymore in the world. If you would like to have a prevention from current flu epidemic, it would be enough of getting flu- vaccine, avoid contacts with contagious person, wear mask, wash your hands.
