Tree pollen: For nasal symptoms, start with an otc antihistamine like Cetirizine or fexofenadine. Tree pollen commonly causes eye symptoms, too. Otc drops like alaway and zaditor (ketotifen) can help. If these don't work, try a prescription nasal spray like fluticasone. And if all that isn't helping, it's time to visit the allergist.

Try nasal saline: Agree with dr. O. Also consider nasal saline wash and saline eye drops immediately after exposure and daily during the season. Shower as soon as you return home from your exposure to remove any pollen that may have got on your clothes and hair. Avoid going to bed without showering because then the pollen will contaminate your beddings.
