Calibration: Your meter can be tested against your lab blood sugar potentially when you go to get blood work done. The lab and your meter use the same sample of blood and compare. In our center, we do this on the spot. A meter can be up to 18% off and still be ok. Meters should come with testing solutions so that you can calibrate from home. But sometimes you just need a new meter.
