Possibly...Yes: The irritation to the oral cavity and possible extension of thrush/candidiasis to the back of the throat could be enough to cause coughing. Thrush is easily treated, so you should see someone to have the problem treated and see if it makes the coughing resolve. That being said, coughing can be caused by a very wide range of issues: infection, medication, allergies, and much more. Get it checked.
