To some extent.: Rogaine (minoxidil) is intended for hereditary baldness, but it can be helpful in cases of temporary hair loss, by "jump starting" the regrowth. Just ignore the paragraph in the package insert that says your hair will fall out again if you stop using it; that's only true for hereditary baldness.
