Demyelination: Complex, tip of iceberg. Ms causes loss of myelin over nerve processes, and often axonal transection. Brain signals are disrupted, and symptoms occur with eventual disability. Brain atrophy can be seen, and both white and grey matter are involved. Result is cognitive loss, fatigue, pain, imbalance, incoordination, weakness, loss of vision, double vision, etc. No cure but control available.
