Depends: Everyone should be tested at least once. After that, it depends on your risk. If you're sexually active, especially with multiple partners and/or without condoms, then yearly testing is a good idea. Some people are at such high risk that they should be tested every 3 months. Those people should probably be on prep to prevent infection.
