A member asked:

Can i get pregnant if i had unprotected sex the night before i need to take off my monthly birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quite Unlikeiy: If the question means the night before the NuvaRing is to be removed and start menses, then it would be unlikely to conceive, since the NuvaRing is an effective method of birth control and does not need backup. Protected sex with a NuvaRing is recommended to reduce the risk of contracting a sexxually transmitted disease. This would apply to the pill or orthevra (patch) as well.
