What is perforating blunt force trauma?

Unusual term: This is an odd expression. Trauma is usually considered to be blunt (blunt force) or penetrating (stab, gunshot). It is possible for blunt trauma to the abdominal area to be so severe that it can cause perforation of the intestine.

Perforation: A perforation is when the stomach or intestine is subjected to intense force and causes a blow out, just like a blown out tire. Intestinal fluids then leak into the abdomen causing severe inflammation/infection which is life threatening and requires immediate surgery.
