Nutrition vs nurture: Good data shows the superiority of breast up to about 8 months for nutrition, at that point the addition of other food sources tend to dilute the effect. Bf is also cuddle time & some kids need more than others. If you must hunt the kid down to feed & they make short work of it, they are likely ready to wean. If they really cuddle a lot, you will need to work on a way to replace the cuddle time.
