Ice and nSAID's: Assuming you did not have an injury, shoulder pain will usually resolve with ice and anti-inflammatory medications. Activity modification is important to avoid aggravating the problem. Symptoms that do not resolve, will likely respond to oral/injectable steroids and therapy. Failure of non-op treatment is followed by MRI and shoulder arthroscopy is performed. See a board certified orthopaedic doc.
