Not much: For a long time it was believed that saw palmetto helped ease the urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate (bph). But the most recent data, which includes pooled data from many trials (cochrane review) shows that saw palmetto just doesn't do much good. If a man has obstructive urinary symptoms, he is probably better off taking tamsulosin (flomax) or rapaflo (silodosin).
