Yes: If by holistic medicine you mean physicians who practice holistic medicine -- yes, chemistry is required in order to enter medical school. Then 4 years of medical school, which does include working with acid-base balance in the body. Patient care requires understanding of chemistry -- especially in functional medicine and in areas like endocrinology, nephrology, and critical care medicine.

Of course: Whether nutrition, exercise, relaxation, acupuncture, bodywork or pharmaceuticals are involved, chemistry is involved. When you change your mind or learn something, chemistry is involved. At one level, we are all chemistry.
