A member asked:

Is it true that sudden cardiac death happens in people with prior heart attack 80% of the time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cardiac scarring: Priorheart attack results in scarring in the heart tissue that alters the electrical conduction through that part of the muscle. Altered conduction leads to the possibility that this zoned can be a source of initiation for ventricular arrhythmias that can cause sudden cardiac death.
