Increased risk?: It is now accepted that adenomatous colon polyps under the right conditions will progress to cancer if present for 5-10 years. However not all polyps will turn into cancer as some will slough off if you have had hyperplastic polyps you risks are not increased. If you had adenomatous polyps then you are at increased risks and should be followed by doctor.
