Time: Scars can't be removed. They can be revised to look better, but once you have a scar you will always have a scar. For best way to revise a scar you should see a plastic surgeon. Fading takes time, but can speed it up with retin-a.

Options: A variety of useful options are available to help minimize the appearance of scarring. Skinmedica scar recovery gel is a good starting home remedy. See a qualified practitioner for additional options such as steroid injections, surgical scar revision, vascular laser treatments (e.g. Excel v or v-beam) and/or fractional laser treatments (e.g. Eco2, profractional) may also be helpful.

Silicone gel sheets: Face scars look better after compression with a silicone gel sheet which can be worn nightly. The compression helps to remodel deep scar tissue making it flatter. When scars are fresh, the sheet helps remove redness faster too. In our experience, the gel alone from a tube is not as effective as the sheeting since compression is the key to therapy. Many sheeting products are sold over the counter.
