A member asked:

How much blood can a 92 year old man lose without serious consequences?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Depends on a lot of things, like how rapidly is the blood loss and if the person has other health problems. If the loss is slow, the body may have time to adapt to the loss until the anemia becomes so critical that the oxygen carrying capacity is too low to support other organs. If a person has other health issues, like heart disease, they may be less likely to tolerate even mild anemia.
