Pink eye: Yes, pink eye is just a virus infecting the conjunctiva or outer layer of the eyeball. It can be very contagious and is spread like any other virus, contact with infected fluids (tears). It runs a course like a cold and usually only requires treatment to alleviate symptoms.

Yes: Anyone can get pink eye and it is a very common issue.
