Not necessarily: If you have had genital hpv and are shedding virus during delivery, the the baby may acquire the germ and have preianal or other lesions show up in the first 2 yrs or so.As far as i know this only applies to those strains that produce the visable genital warts. Some elect to have a scheuled c-section if their visable warts are active at the time of delivery which avoids the risk.
