Copd: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a condition where the smaller bronchioles produce executive mucus obstructing the airway. A variant of copd, called emphysema, elasticity of the terminal bronchioles and alveoli is lost. There are four stages mild, moderate, severe and very severe depending on the lung function tests(fev1).

Lung disease: COPD is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease - in the us it is usually cause by smoking and the stages are divided so as to provide a rough guide as to severity with 1 being the least severe and 4 being the most.

COPD...: Copd, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a slowly progressive, incurable lung disease usually caused by smoking. There are treatments that control symptoms and smoking cessation is a necessary component of therapy. See your doctor for both diagnosis and treatment.
