Depends: The best treatment is whichever treatment your eye doctor feels most comfortable with. Depending on when they trained is the treatment that one will receive. If they trained earlier, the treatment could be the placement of an antibiotic ointment, a drop to relax the iris and then a patch or contact lens would be placed . Nowadays, many are not patching the eye and just use topical lubricants.
