How old does a kid have to be to start using antihistamines?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antihistamine & baby: Some babies receive antihistamines in utero. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) was shown to be safe in pregnancy by a class action suit being brought against it failing to show any deformities that were unexpected compared to the rest of the population. But before using any antihistamine in a tiny baby, check with your doctor. Don't use antihistamines for colds. They make secretions thick and increase sinus infection.
