A type of ADHD: Adhd has two major types: inattentive type and hyperactive type. As the name implies, inattentive type refers to those patients who are often found staring off into space or just simply cannot attend to a task. This is in contrast with those with hyperactivity who bounce from one thing to another, talk too much or too fast and can't focus because they are too active to sit still.

Unawareness. : Predominantly inattentive add is very common. Pts are unable to sustain attention during routine activities. This is a major problem-these patients aren't obviously hyperactive or intrusive. They are often over looked. Having this leads to problems with communication & comprehension. These pts suffer more than hyperactive pts, but it is just as damaging & impacting on a person's well being.

Poor attention: In the subtype of adhd known as "predominantly inattentive type" there is serious inattention problems, but not much in the way of hyperactivity/impulsive symptoms; the individual still must meet the criteria for adhd.
