What is hypothyroidism and how can it be treated?

Low blood thyroid: Hypothyroidism is due to an under active thyroid. The most common cause is hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition that leads to an inability of the thyroid to produce the proper amount of hormone. It is treated by taking oral thyroid hormone, the exact same hormone that the thyroid normally produces, until the blood level becomes normal.

Hypothyroidism: Your thyroid gland controls your metabolic rate. Hypothyroidism means low thyroid functioning & is very common & often underdiagnosed. Low thyroid symptoms include-high cholesterol, constipation, fatigue, weight gain, depression, leg swelling. High cortisol, insulin, estrogen all depress thyroid function.
