How often should tetanus shots be administered?

Depends on age: Infants immune systems require doses 6-8 wks apart starting at 6-8 wks for 3 doses in the first yr to provide the initial protection, boosters at 12-15m, 4-5y, 10-15yr and every 5-10 yrs thereafter based on lifestyle.( those exposed to dirty work/play benefit from regular boosters) rare severe rxns to the booster occur & require avoidance unless an allergist can desensatize you to the toxoid.
