Not sure: Viral pneumonia should have cleared in two weeks. The fact that he is being treated with Levofloxacin suggests that either the initial diagnosis was incorrect or that he has developed a secondary bacterial pneumonia as a result of the viral infection. Before your wife sees him, check with his doctor about whether he feels there is a risk (doubt that this is true).

Depends: This is confusing, because you say he has "viral pneumonia, " but he's taking an antibiotic, which has no activity against viruses. If he truly has a viral infection, then he may be contagious. However, people can still visit him. He can wear a mask if he's coughing, and they should wash their hands. Bacterial pneumonias are less likely to be contagious.
